About Our Household Garbage Removal Service
Sometimes the trash just gets ahead of you — after a big tidy, a move, a party, or simply months of accumulation that the weekly collection cannot keep up with. We clear out the household garbage and clutter that piles up faster than the curb can take it: bagged trash, broken household items, old toys, small furniture, boxes, and the general mix of stuff that fills a basement or spare room. If you landed here looking for your city's garbage collection schedule, see the City vs. Private Pickup guide below — then call us when the city won't take it, missed you, or you can't wait until next week. We load it all in one trip so you are not making a dozen dump runs or waiting weeks to put a few extra bags out at a time. You point to what goes, and we handle the rest.

City of Oshawa curbside garbage
- Garbage is collected every other week on your scheduled day; set it out by 7 a.m. that morning and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before.
- Four bags per registered dwelling unit per collection. Every bag past four needs a City of Oshawa bag tag ($2.50 per tag, sold in sheets of five).
- Bags only — garbage cans are not collected in Oshawa. Maximum bag size 66 cm × 90 cm (26 in × 36 in), maximum weight 20 kg (44 lb).
Furniture and large items
- The Large Item Collection program is free, but you must book it (online or through Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311) at least two business days before your regular garbage day — and spots are limited.
- Up to six items per collection for houses and buildings of eight units or fewer (12 items for nine units or more); each item under 70 kg and 3 m long.
- It takes appliances (doors removed), e-waste, furniture, mattresses and box springs, porcelain sinks and toilets, and most oversized household items.
What Oshawa won't take at the curb
- Demolition and renovation material, including drywall and construction wood waste.
- Bags of garbage set out as 'large items', and anything past the four-bag limit without a tag.
- Tires, vehicle parts, and household hazardous waste such as paint, oil, fertilizer and pool chemicals.
- Oversized or overweight bags — the City says these are left behind even when under the weight limit if they jam the truck.

Frequently Asked Questions — Household Garbage Removal in Oshawa
How much does household garbage removal cost in Oshawa?
Household Garbage Removal in Oshawa starts at our $55 minimum and is priced at $35 per cubic yard, so you only pay for the space your load takes in the truck. Household junk is priced by volume, so a few bags and a couple of items is just the minimum, while a full-room declutter is a partial truckload. There is no per-bag fee and no surcharge for stairs — you pay for the space the load fills.
Which Oshawa neighbourhoods do you cover for household garbage removal?
We provide household garbage removal throughout Oshawa, including Eastdale, Donevan, Samac and Downtown Oshawa. Most jobs are scheduled within 24-48 hours, and same-day service is available across Oshawa.
How is this different from my city's garbage pickup?
Municipal collection limits how many bags and bulky items you can put out and how often. We take it all in one visit, from inside your home, with no bag limits or special-pickup waits.
Where do I find my city's garbage collection schedule?
Durham Region publishes weekly garbage, green bin, blue box, and yard waste schedules by address, and the City of Toronto publishes Scarborough pickup calendars the same way — search your city name plus 'waste collection calendar' and enter your address. If the city won't take it (extra bags over the limit, bulky furniture, renovation junk), missed your street, or you can't wait until next pickup day, that's exactly when to call RJR Demo & Junk at (905) 999-4426: same-day private pickup from $55, we carry it from inside your home, no bag tags or limits.
Do you do recurring pickups?
We can. Some households and small businesses book us on a regular schedule for overflow that the weekly collection cannot handle. Most jobs, though, are one-time clear-outs.
